Best way to cleaning stick glue left from velcro?

Hi

Not sure if this has been ask and when I type cleaning in search it talks about guitar. I wish to know the best way to clean the sticky glue left behind from velcro. On the back of pedals or top of pedal boards.

Is just washing up liquid or is there a better way to do this?

WD40 can be pretty effective glue type dependent. spray it on leave it a few minutes and wipe away, it may take a little effort.

Pretty much any solvent except acetone.
