What can I run at 12V?

I have just bought a Harley Benton Power Plant 2. One of my pedals (TC Nova Delay) requires 12V whereas everything else runs at 9V.
Is it safe to run anything at 12V (to make the most of the 500mA from the one output) or would that damage pedals requiring 9V?

depends what pedals, check their manufacturers advice, some of mine say 9v but are happy and better at 12v

    What pedals do you own?
Bit hard to tell you what you can run at 12v if you don't tell us what you have.

Plenty of pedals can be run at 12v or higher. But not all of them. Just check with the manufactuer before plugging it in

I think the only ones there that can be run 12v are the Stereo Wet and the Spark Mini.

Neunaber say this on their website:

Is there an advantage to a 12V adapter rather than 9V? The only advantage is an additional 2.5 dB of dry-signal headroom. This is imperceptible under most circumstances; however, it may be appropriate for a line-level effects loop.
You might want to ask them though.

I know the non-mini Spark can be run at 12v as I did it.

If the 12V is accurately regulated - ie doesn't drift up to over 16V with no load - then it should be safe with almost any 9V pedal. 16V is the rating on many electrolytic caps typically used in 9V pedals, and just under the limit for some chips.

But it would be wise to check with the manufacturer first, if you can.

To overcome this very serious problem, you should buy a new pedal that can definitely be run at 12V to be safe.

I've sent an email and tweet to Neunaber to ask

My Immerse can run at 12v, I think the Wet can too

When I ran it at 12v I didn’t notice any discernible difference though

Had a reply on twitter and Email both saying it's fine.

It would be interesting to do proper comparisons with a real-time switch on pedals which are claimed to sound different at higher voltages. I suspect a lot of them will be less different than expected...

Digital pedals like the Nova Delay don't always play nicely when sharing power with something else.  You often get noise issues.  It's normally best to have it on it's own isolated output.

[That's assuming it works at all.  I had two of them die on me.  Sell it before it dies and and get a Timeline or DD500.]
