Stopping a strap from slipping ?

I use wide leather straps with the shiny bit on the outside and the suede bit in contact with my shoulder & back.  Over the years, the suede bit seems to have become a bit slippery and I'm forever 'hitching' my guitars up and repositioning them on my shoulder because they slowly slip with the weight of the body.

How can I stop this, short of having a lockable peg surgically implanted in my shoulder or glueing velcro to my back ? :-)

Attack the suede side with a stiff wire brush or glass paper?

I find supporting the weight of the guitar with my left hand, whilst fretting with my fingers helps keep mine in place

Stick a cheese grater to the bit of the strap that goes over your shoulder.

Wire brush will lift the suede, giving more friction. Glass paper can smooth it. 

In the spirit of GAS you really ought to buy another strap, plus a spare, plus one in a different colour.

It's ok, I've worked it out.  I've got a roll of that rubbery mesh stuff you can buy to slap on the car dashboard to stop your phone / keys from sliding everywhere.  I'll glue a length of that onto the inner side.

See... now I go the other way... gaffa tape on the underside of strap so it slips easy and doesn’t grip my bra strap causing a mid gig tit out!!!!
