Anyone seen Samantha Fish live? She's playing local to me in April and am quite tempted to go see her (purely for the music, honest!).
Tomorrow will be a good day.

No, but I saw Samantha Fox on a 73 bus once if that helps!

I like a lot of her songs and she plays great.    I’d like to get to a gig but they are all a bit of a trek for me.

Presumably she hasn't played many UK gigs - I don't know but she's not exactly a household name and  she lives ( IIRC) in New Orleans.
I guess she's someone if you heard her on the radio/ streaming probably little that would make her stand out from other modern blues based artists but she's an attractive young woman and the impression is that she is an energetic performer ( I feel like I'm describing something on PornHub here although that wasn't the intention...)  so I guess it would be a good gig. I'll be on holiday when she plays Brum so bit of a moot point for me.

It wasn't unfortunately, it was back in the mid 80s too when she was young and relatively attractive.

She's great. I've watched a lot of her YT vids.

She's played with Walter Trout. Seriously.

Not sure if there was a Bass player, though.

    And Julian Bream no doubt.

Apparently that isn't her surname from birth and it's just the nickname a girl from her PE class gave her, from when she used to support her during a handstand.

Walter, genuinely, used to do a lot of gigs with Eric Sardinas.

When they recorded in the studio did they correct wrong notes with AutoTuna?

No doubt Samantha Fish is a decent player (and is very pleasant to look at) but she falls into the Aynsley Lister/Chantel McGregor camp for me... their voices are just too lightweight to be really convincing, they’re all a bit too “polite” somehow. If you want to see a female blues player with a great voice, Joanne Shaw Taylor is way better.

Not sure I agree on that one. She's a better singer than guitarist IMO.

I think she's got a bit more about her than that, there are some great live clips on YouTube.  Love her version of War Pigs.

Her recent stuff is certainly slicker, more soulful, more sophisticated - I like it less, but it takes her away from being yet another pub-rock blues act so I can't really criticise.

That said, I'm not really a blues fan anyway, so I'm not quite sure why I'm commenting...

I was bowled over by Samantha Fox to be honest. She walked up close and her glorious chesticles did the rest.

I quite like her, although she does have her knockers.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it
