Agreed.  Just watching him in that qualifying lap shows the difference between what they had to do then, and what they have to do now.  For the most part, it's difficult to see who these days has real driving talent.

    Just watch his feet.

Shot through the heart, and you’re to blame, you give love a bad name. Not to mention archery tuition.

I watched the Senna film at a cinema screening a few years ago.  The guy was very talented indeed.

Yep, the film excellent.  My wife tells me I've got no heart as I never cry at films, but I sobbed like a baby watching that.

It's on TV tonight if anyone hasn't seen it (ITV4 @ 22:30).  Well worth a watch.

remember watching this live and thinking this was as good as it gets, toe to toe racing:

not to mention real tyres, no on board starting computers or suspension....

His jacket says Boss, says it all really.

As far as I can remember, I cried when he died, and I cried watching Senna.

I always thought Senna was an arsehole in the personal sense, but still a supreme master of F1. Bit like Schumacher. Good film, though!

Agreed - he was a bit of a Marmite character.  I used to hate him, but then I was a Mansell fan (of course).

I like the story of him punching Eddy Irvine.

Flawed genius (and we'll overlook the white socks with black loafers thing!). It took a long time for him to 'fess up about taking Prost out. I was also more of a Mansell fan, but what Senna could do in the rain was properly jaw-dropping.

You can buy one of his old cars, if you like: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C488006

Great racer but a bit of a shit by all accounts.

Still it is sad for the memory of Roland Ratzenburger and his family who gets nary a mention every anniversary.

Fair enough he wasn't quite in the same league but deserves to be remembered too.

Like most here I watched it unfold live on the day, shit stuff two drivers gone in thecsame day.

Would I be right in thinking that Senna and Ratzenberger were the last drivers to die in F1 cars?  I can't think of any since.

Not too sure @Nitefly but off the top of my head I cannot think of one.

There may have been in other formula's but again not too sure.

Off the top of my head I think the last death was not a driver but a marshall when a wheel came off a car several years ago?

Just googled apparently another marshall last year too. Daily Mail was first link I found whislt looking for the wheel death lets not make it an issue if you don't want to click it. :)
