Yep .. I have a shed load of albums with him on.

A favourite album is Polytown with the late, great Mick Karn on bass and Terry Bozzio on drums ..

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

My favourite of his albums is Cloud About Mercury, not least because it features Tony Levin on bass and Stick.

I've been trying to get a "Torny" sound with my PRS SE 24 and a Mooer Yellow compressor as I always thought he used a compressor on high settings. This video confirms that.

Also his playing on the David Sylvian albums, sublimely atmospheric

Ah, yes. I've been a huge Sylvian fan since Gone to Earth. Seen him live 3 times (though not with Torn)

@sweepy - Exactly that track. That's the one I've been using as a basis to get the Torn sound. I use a PRS SE 24 on bridge pickup, lots of treble, the whammy bar and a Mooer Yellow compressor on max.

Lots of compression into a pitch shifter (EHX Pitchfork) set on 5th interval blended in is another Torn setting I use to get this:

Gone to Earth easily in my top ten albums of all time, I'm a reasonably big fan of Japan as well. All oddly against type for me but I must have played Gone to Earth more than any other album I've ever owned.
I should give these videos a watch.

I have the videos on VHS somewhere.
Torn is a huge influence on my playing style, especially Clouds and Polytown.

Same. In 1987 I played the vinyl double album over and over and over.

What a combo - Sylvian, Fripp, Bill Nelson, Ian (now Jennifer) Maidman, and more.

    And this is sublime:
