The Board New Plan; hence the spring clean

So, since I've got the Verb and the 5E3 some of my pedals just aren't quite what is ideal.

Pete's stuff, for all its merits, works best in a clean amp, using the pedal tone as the primary.

What I want is to enhance the amp, and also remove the ridculous number of 240v pedals on my board (4).

So, this is the plan, if anyone is interested.

New Board Running Order;

1.     Skrydstrup Vol

2.     EB Wah

3.     Thorpy Veteran Ge

4.     OC1

5.     P1

6.     G2

7.     Kingsley Jouster

8.     KOT

9.     3Q1

10.  Dry Bell Vibe

11.  TC Phaser XII

12.  TC SCF

13.  TES

14.  FTT Futue Factory

15.  ABC to amps- VibroVerb, Deluxe, and a DRRI powering a Leslie 16.

Believe it or not, loads less cabling, loads less AC power, loads more board room loads more options.

Will start building it when back from Hols.

The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Thirded on the future factory. Amazing pedal and a lot simpler to use than it looks...

  • Anyone able to share why the FF is so amazing? What separates it from other delays? I've heard bad reports on the modulation section of the pedal and that's really putting me off it.

When I first plugged in and cycled through the presets I was blown away by how good it sounded straight out of the box.  This was in stark contrast to another recent purchase, the Volante which I was initially a little underwhelmed by.

The FF reminds me of those huge rack tones from the 80s that I aspired to when growing up. I love the way that repeats seem to preserve the initial note attack.

I saw a couple of negative remarks about the modulation on TGP but one guy was only using it in mono and the other resolved his issue when he figured out that his unit had shipped with the stereo outputs set out of phase.

I'm not a big aficionado of modulation effects but it sounds great to me.

I got to use it live last weekend and it did not disappoint. I'd set up only two basic presets, one a slapback and the other a fairly subtle stereo modulated delay with quarter note repeats on one side and dotted eighths on the other.  I pretty much left it on all night, mostly on the latter setting and at no time did it get muddy or in the way.

For me, it's just one of those pedals that puts a grin on my face when I hear it and I don't want to turn it off.
