My work computer has a slightly flickery screen which has a very strange effect on that cover.

I think I'm in danger of being hyponiti…..

As a Roger Dean fan I should hate that one, but I rather like it. I'd have preferred a woman's arse mind you.
I like that one too. And I’m straight... it’s just art.

But I’m not keen on Time And A Word - the woman looks tied up, even though it’s probably not meant to be.

For me it's Sabbath's Born Again. Too terrible to link here. The music isn't that bad imo.

Does humo(u)r belong in music packaging?

The cover of Strict Tempo by Richard Thompson seems cheesy until you realise that it is a spoof.

Is the content of the sleeve artwork obliged to integrate with the audio content?

The front and back of Dark Side Of The Moon look extremely distinctive but signify nothing to do with the music.

Conversely, the inner sleeve of “i” by Patrick Moraz says a great deal about the composer’s thoughts on the content.

The covers of the albums Velvet Underground & Nico and Sticky Fingers tell us more about the interests of Andy Warhol than they do about the optional entertainment contained within.

Attitudes to the Polydor UK cover of Blind Faith are forever changing.

The current denial stance stems from fear of what others MIGHT think of adult males who dare to own and look at the photograph of Mariora Goschen.

    Assumed thought crime, methinks.

By this logic, a whole bunch of master paintings are also going to need censoring or destroying.

When did British society revert to being so hung up about nudity?

We never stopped.  We just needed to find another rationale to justify it when the Christian one began to wear thin.  We've found it in feminism and fear of paedophilia.

Deep down we never lost our Puritan awareness that sex was evil.  We used to think that was because it was contrary to the teachings of the Lord.  We've now worked out it's because it involves brutish men exploiting women (and sometimes children).  That new enlightenment means we can start covering up provocative images of naked people again and go back to feeling comfortable like we were before.

Not at all. Nude paintings are a million miles away from a photo of an underage girl holding a phallic object. What the hell were they thinking!?!?!

I ruined the cover of my Shakira album.

In hindsight I should've left the plastic wrap on it.

Any cover that looks like that is an instant purchase.

Luckily it comes from the good era of Pantera.

I never know if you're being serious with comments like that (first part).  There are certainly hundreds - thousands - of metal albums with terrible GCSE-project dungeons and dragons cover paintings.... which shouldn't put anyone off investigating the contents.

As for good era Pantera, I've only listened to the first four albums a couple of times.  I think I liked two of them but wasn't crazy about the others.  I forget which.  But I don't particularly like all the later albums either.

To go back to the OP, I can't really think of any album cover which would actually ruin an album for me, or stop me buying it.  They're just pictures.
