    I've no doubt somebody will be able to help, but...can you give us some photos for context and a description of the actual issues you're having?

    Specifically, it will help to know what Telecaster variant is under discussion and what type of selector switch is being used. (DiMarzio offers at least four different types. Each lends itself to a different circuit.)

    The Duncan four conductor + shield wiring convention is:
    Black = “hot” output (connect to selector switch)
    White & Red = the series link
    Green = ground
    Bare = screening ground (connect permanently to the volume pot chassis)

    The Seymour Duncan site has a great wiring guide here. Just add in your specs on the right side of the page and it'll give you the relevant diagram.

    As a former regular on the SDUG forum, I must caution you. The SD Incorporated wiring schematics section underwent a major redesign about five years ago. Whatever the equivalent of proof reading is for diagrams, it was not done properly. I still find howlers amongst even the more basic circuits.

    Double check before disassembling or assembling anything.
