Watch the whole thing..  really.
Young Jacob truly is the Mozart of this era.

Brilliant, but the music he writes isn't anything special. I'd put Edgar Meyer in the genius camp first, he's not young and peacocky but the Mcarthur fellowship agrees with me.

Sorry for being thick - but what am I missing here? Someone’s doing a very artificial, processed cover of a classic Beatles number.
I feel an explanation is needed because I’m just judging it with my ears.

Sounds like if Noah and the Whale had been formed by the kids at school who liked science books and hung around in the library
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

  • That doesn’t do much for me, but then I checked out his youtube channel; this one is fantastic and he is obviously seriously musically talented

Another who came to my attention this week is Alex G; not a virtuoso but makes beautiful haunting music

He is like Marmite, but Jacob is a bona fida musical genius, an incredibly rare talent with an unbelievable understanding of musical theory and harmony in one so young. He does throw this random stuff out there.. which I love cos it's so inventive.

MIT are somewhat in awe of him.
