What a shit song. I thought Brendon Urie would know better than that...

Brendon Urie is a very good songwriter... hence my surprise and disappointment at him being involved in such a dreadful, vacuous as dindude correctly puts it, marketing vehicle for Taylor Swift.

But I suspect he's cynical enough to know that there's a marketing opportunity in it for him as well.

I couldn't have put it better. The money must have been good!

Fairly conventional pop song, using I-Vi-IV-V progression.

See also Stand By Me, Purple Rain, Wonderful World, Every Breath You Take, and countless early Beatles songs.

    I'd call it pretty inoffensive.

Uninspiring. Taylor Swift has done much better work in her previous albums..

    This.

She's made better pop music than almost anyone over the last decade or so, but this is definitely a dip.

I have a lot of time for Taylor. A lot less vacuous than Katy Perry and a few others.

As an aside, I did think Ke$ha did a gret comeback after all the crap with Dr Luke. Her comeback single at least had true anger and passion in it.

Less about the money for that and more about getting Swifties into Panic! At The Disco, I think.

Although my daughter skipped the middle bit and went straight from One Direction to PATD... so ironically she quite likes this song because of Urie, not Swift.

I guess I got lucky - my daughter went One Direction -> The Smiths, Death Cab For Cutie, etc. I put that down to good parenting :)
