Basses that is. I'm tired of seeing the same old Strat/Tele/LP blah blah blah porn.

Let's see yer basses. The wackier the better.....

(Precisions and Jazzes tolerated even though they are just Strat/Jag variations ;)).

    Only octatonic? (nice basses BTW).

I know bass players are a shy retiring lot (@Bridgehouse being a good example ;)) but if you've got 'em you've gotta flash 'em! Don't let the guitar players get all the porn :)

    '73 Rickenbacker 4001.

I've now replaced the HB1 in the neck with a 'toasterbucker' which sounds - and more importantly looks ;) - much more like the original, without losing the hum cancellation.

I have a sunburst Precision, same as just about every sunburst Precision out there. If anyone is interested I can try and post a picture.....

  • My favourite is my Dingwall Combustion.

I’ve since restored it to being a 2 pickup (neck and bridge) model. I also tried the FDV and P-Tone pickups and honestly prefer the stock pickups.

Sort-of Precision, but it's a 5'er and has some really wacky features on it, but I love it

Wow! Brilliant basses. They confirm my feeling that bass players a generally less conservative than guitarists when it comes to instrument designs. Bring them on!

I’ll bet @HarrySeven has more than a few interesting basses too.

Wacky 51 Precision style but with a one-off custom single coil rick-o-like pickup from Oil City..

Not actually mine - I borrowed it for a few months - It's a one-off hand made job by a Belgian guy who just sent it off in packaging to a bunch of geezers on Basschat.

It's utterly wacky - the knob and switch config is mental. It's also rather cool and really nice to play

    I'd agree with you there.

I've got a fretless 5 in build by a custom maker - it's basically a precision with a load of extra features, but looks completely different and will sound different too. I know a lot of bass players who prefer to go custom and have something specced out rather than by an off the peg bass from one of the big manufacturers. Maybe we know what we want/like more than guitarists.
