Sad news indeed..  beautiful melodic like many of that era. Guitar solos in Pop music are often overlooked.

Very sad. He very much played second fiddle to Mark King's bass prowess, but he did it with good grace and more than a little talent.

Didn’t see this yesterday - Level 42 are headlining a festival I’m going to next month. I'm looking forward to seeing them even though I was never really a fan back in the day - they’re supposed to be great live.

Edit - I didn't realise he'd only briefly been in the reunited line-up and wasn't playing with them now.

I think you'd have to be a bloody competent guitarist to stand alongside a bassist of that capability in a band.
Saw them live in the 80s.....fantastic band.
I may be wrong but I think the original keyboard player died very young.

I believe Mike Lindup is still alive, and still playing with Level 42 (Level 42 in particular have breaks and lineup changes regularly, but I think he is IN at present). Mike Lindup and Mark King were the founders.
