awaiting delivery of a nice new Mp3 player ( have been using a CD player thingy whilst oot on walks, it' a pain and the size o' a frisbee) anyways.....I want tae avoid guitar related stuff since I get enough of that at home, right?

so in preparation for my MP3 I've uploaded, tae my PC, my complete Dylan collection, the Beatles red and blue albums, Beethoven's Pastoral and about seven Porcupine Tree CDs...that should  keep me happy for a while :)

so, wot are you listening tae bro?

I never listen to music which has the life squashed out of it by MP3 compression.  My tiny Zen portable has lots of Drivetime or so called Dad Rock such as Chris Rea, Thin Lizzy, Dire Straits, Rory Gallagher, AC/DC, Who etc.

    Everything.

That I possess in the way of music, anyway.

29170 songs, 3238 albums and 1258 artists in 19 genres at the current count.

Can't do that with anything other than mp3, and low resolution at that (128kbps). Makes no difference to my enjoyment of the *music* - as opposed to the sound - anyway.

Interestingly the iPod is about the same size as one cassette.

The last thing I listed to was Warren Zevon. (But not because he starts with Z :).)

    Everything.

About 8000 songs. Bought MP3 as MP3, and all my CD Rips as Q6 Vorbis.
