Laney LC15R effects loop

The FX loop on my Laney works reasonably well for some effects (reverb, delay) but not others (phaser, noise gate).

I understand the loop is a parallel loop fixed at 50:50 wet:dry, which might explain why it doesn’t work for everything.  Is it possible to have it converted to a series loop (or install a mix control), and is this worthwhile?

Yes and yes. Plain series is the easiest and best.
