A friend of mine has bought himself a nice Fender acoustic but the action is too high for him. Can anyone recommend a good luthier in or around the London NW2 area that can lower the action and provide a first class set up for him?
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

you can sand down the saddle yourself
it can go wrong without experience, but for a cheaper guitar may be worth a try
Worse case is paying for a new, correctly adjusted saddle

Folkies Music, 358 Kilburn High Road. Almost in Cricklewood and they have a guitar repair service.

    Very helpful they are too.

Late to this party but over the years I have used Bill Puplett who has a legendary reputation. I thought the quality of his work was exceptional but he had a long waiting list, including a lot of "names". Good prices though.
IIRC he was near Kingsbury / Harrow.
He didn't advertise and kept a very low profile. Anyone know if he's still working?
