It's not exactly news, to be honest - Harley Benton cabs have been about the same price as the speakers in them for years.

OK it's because Thomann are buying direct from the factory and hence cutting out several middlemen, but it does make you realise how overpriced most big-brand plywood boxes with a couple of Chinese speakers in are...

Marshall want £600 for theirs, with slightly less expensive speakers.

What would be a good low power valve amp to pair with one of these v30 cabs?

the cab may not stand up to extensive gigging, but for home/light use is a good deal. I actually like the V30 in the amps I have them in and there is no generic sound that permeates.

They seem very solidly built - or do you mean the jacks? They are a bit crap, but easy enough to replace.

The only flaws I've seen apart from that are that the vinyl hasn't been cut accurately and stuck down very well on the back corners on a couple.

Not if you are in the market for a half decent 2x12 cab for decent money. That'll learn me not to check the autocorrect before I post.
