Best Custom Shop Les Paul in Denmark Street

Quick c.v. from me:

Played over 20 custom shop Les Pauls from 2008 to present including Murphy aged & had hands on with 2 vintage 'bursts'.

Was in London today & tried every Custom Shop Les Paul in Denmark Street.

2 stood out for me:

1) This 2019 '58 at Sixty Sixty Sounds https://imgur.com/Nno37N6

2) This 59 Historic Select at Macari's - https://imgur.com/Rfm8FiI

The 58 at Sixty Sixty really was a cut above the rest, a little bit heavy (over 9lb) but beautiful in the hand & it had a 'bolivian' fretboard

The guys at Sixty Sixty were great, but a massive shout out has to got Macari's they are real down to earth legends in there.

If you're in the market for a burst, go take a look.

Faith in Denmark Street restored, for today at least !

The '58 isn't really a looker to me but I suppose appearances can be deceptive. It also looks to have tall frets but maybe that's because of the lighting.

I've always liked Macari's.  I've bought a few things from them over the years and it was a happy experience every time.  I think that they're down the road a bit and also still family owned and run.  also not part of the shadier Music Ground side of Denmark St.  I bought a LP from their Gibson outlet in Denmark St 3 years ago, when they had the dealership.  They gave up the shop and Jan took the dealership with him when he started Sixty Sixty.  He still remembers me 3 years on - made an impression somehow.  I would guess the Gibson stock in Macari's may have come from Jan as they are no longer a dealer?
