im selling my bike through gumtree and have someone coming from Nottingham to buy it. He has asked for the new keepers section number so he can tax it. I have already let him now the reg. the guy has asked many questions so seems legit but should I be wary of giving the new keepers section number. Could he use it to scam me in some way.

    It’s all legit, no need to worry. You can’t pass the road tax on to a new owner like you used to (nice little earner for the Gov there  :p ) so he needs to tax it before he can ride it away.  You just need to give him the reference number.
