Manchester Arena

Any recommendations on somewhere to stay when attending a mid-week gig at Manchester Arena?  Ideally somewhere close-ish to arena (or easily get at-able via public transport / taxi).  A hotel with parking would be extra good.

Also... any good places for pre gig dinner... and for lunch next day?

What kind of budget? Premier Inn and The Lowry Hotel are both easily walkable and have car parks.

We often stay at Premier Inn Deansgate Lock, pretty central and plenty of free parking.

For lunch, assuming it's a weekday, try La Vina on Deansgate - 3 tapas and a drink for £9.99!  It's a limited choice from 7, but they're all good, and the drink can be soft, small glass of wine, or a 330 bottle of San Miguel - excellent value!

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Manchester has changed a lot in the last x years (can't admit to how long it's been ie I'm in denial about how old I am).

In the end, we didn't stay the night.  But Manchester looks like a great place for a longer visit and we'll return for a weekend at some point in the near future - so thanks for the advice.

Had lunch at Mackie Mayor.  Great place.  Thanks for the tip, @SteveRobinson.
