On a more serious note this is epic!

    Good call.

    Love this version.

It's the sort of track I like to play when I'm a bit pissed off.

Not forgetting The Carpenters' 'Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft'. Not necessarily better than Klaatu's, but good nontheless.

A fairly safe one but I've always loved The Black Crowes version of "Hard to handle".

This Mortal Coil (Cocteau Twins) - Song to the Siren...

I am of such age that this IS the definitive version of that song. It's just so gorgeous.
Yeah, I thought that too, until I listened to Tim Buckley.

I know what you mean. I love the Tim Buckley version, but This Mortal Coil's version was the first I heard, and it is both lovely in it's lushness and ethereality (I know- I probably just made that up), but it is also very evocative of that period of my life. (Looks wistfully off into the early-ish 80's...).

Something amazing, I've still got a cassette of this I taped from Alexis Korner's radio programme. Maybe versions of old standards like this don't count, but pfft

Something very different. I think every Cramps cover sounds like they wrote it, this is just the one that surprised me the most when I heard it.

Making an uncharacteristic attempt at miming.

Finally. This guy & his band are really good. He's a lovely player. I actually like his version of this better than Green On Red's original.

Other notables for me- Johnny Too Bad by Steve Earle & the V Roys
Six Days on The Road by Taj Mahal
Who Do You Love by Jesus & Mary Chain
Who Do You Love or any Bo Diddley Cover by George Thorogood

Surprised noone's mentioned this yet. It's virtually a cliche these days but the original (cover) is still spectacular
