Good to see I Will Survive buy CAKE - hard to choose between that and Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps but yes - that is an amazing guitar solo!

I will ponder this today, but one of my all-time favourites is this - KT Tunstall again, this time making Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead into one of the most beautiful things I ever heard. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

Also look for her covers of Boys Of Summer by Don Henley and Mister State Trooper by Bruce Springsteen.

Another +1 for This Mortal Coil. Other favourites are Teenage Fanclub's cover of He'd Be A Diamond (Bevis Frond) and The Posies' cover of Chris Bell's I Am The Cosmos.
My wife asked me to stop singing Wonderwall.
    I said maybe.....

Thought about this for a while and have decided that I really like sepultura's version of Angel (originally done by Massive Attack).

Love the lacuna coil one, the APC version of Imagine is one of the shittest things Maynard has ever been involved with on the other hand.
Personally, I prefer the APC cover of Imagine to the original.

The Bear McCreary/Battlestar Galactica version of All Along the Watchtower.
    Seether - Careless Whisper.
Black Label Society - No More Tears (although does it count as a cover if ZW Co-wrote it with Ozzy?)

My band - Crimson on Silver  For sale - Blackstar HT-5S

Gear - Guitars, amps, effects and shizz. Edited for Phil_aka_Pip, who is allergic to big long lists.

Not sure if this has been posted as I haven't checked out all the links.

A great cover of a great original.

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

"Shakey Ground" covered by Aerosmith :D Appeared as a bonus track on a version of Music From Another Dimension.

And I have to be honest I really like their whole blues covers album Honkin' on Bobo (iirc only one original song on the album).

I rather like Opeth's version of Bridge of Sighs, though it's quite faithful to the original:

Anneke Van Giersbergen (formerly of The Gathering) & Danny Cavanagh (Anathema) cover Teardrop.

Just recently found this - it's great! Pop-punk version of a great old Go West song.

Their version of "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer is good too.

I must be the only one who doesn't like This Mortal Coil's Song to the Siren cover, the Tim Buckley original just seems so much more simple, nuanced and forlorn. There's a live version on youtube from The Monkees TV show (of all places), one of those moments when one man seems to effortlessly hold your attention. But since this is a covers thread I wont post that. I'll post this:
