Quite a lot of companies are open to a group buy giving price breaks at various levels of definite buyers.

A couple other communities I frequent do this from time to time and the deals are very keen indeed, just need someone with brass cojones to ask.

    BFD3 is very good though.

I've decided to go for broke and just save for BFD3.  Once I worked out how to program my own grooves, it became pretty intuitive to just record a song's worth of decent sounding drums, and I hardly even looked at changing how the drums themselves sound, just upped the gain a bit on the kick!

And that was just the demo...

looks like I'm going to have to get to know BFD3 sooner than I thought..

I have two main music projects on the go right now.. one is recording the next DC Band album.. the other is working with a movie trailer consortium..

I've just been asked to add some choirs, orchestral brass and some rockin'-an'rollin' [kinda metal style] to a trailer..

so here goes.. my BFD3 maiden voyage starts tomorrow...

    edited June 2014

my roll with this trailer crew is mainly the orchestral, choral, guitars and drum kit parts.. so for the drums before I was using BFD2.. but now I have a nice new toy..

for my "trailer drums / percussion" I'm using Native Instruments Action Strikes. trailer drums are a whole different world.. and a completely different ethos to BFD.. it's more about being 'huge' than authentic.. thing is... most trailer writers have instruments like Strikes. so in addition to conventional rock drum parts,  I reckon it'd be cool to on blend BFD3 with Strikes [the fat Ludwig floor toms].. that'll mean I can bring something a little different whilst remaining within trailer context..

seriously.. I had no idea trailer music was soooo fkn difficult to create..

@Drew_fx is it possible to import a BFD2 MIDI map into BFD3

because my BFD2 hit is huge and I had to add quite a lot to the basic map.. so I'm wondering if I have to set that all up again from scratch, or can I save loads of time and import??

    Yeah you can import.

Keymap window. File menu. Choose "Import Key Maps". Navigate to the folder where the keymap file is stored. Import.

(if you didn't save your BFD2 keymap out as a file, then do that first)
