faith naked question

What's Hot

Any one own one? I'm quite tempted but have concerns about the finish aging far too quickly. As always I'm on a tight budget but they do seem to be quality for the money. I would ideally like to go further up in the range but I know that when I have that sort of spare cash about I'd bottle out of blowing it on a non essential. (Keep reminding myself that me and the mrs aint had a decent holiday for years). pics of "abused" naked faiths would be good (not something I should put in a search engine, well, not with the misses about!).

Have only heard good things about them.  They punch above their price quite considerably.

  • The other guitarist in my band has one, I think they are great. The ageing thing doesn't bother may but they do 'ding' easily and gather sort of compression marks in the thin lacquer.

Really like them myself but inevitably they will be more prone to knocks, dings and ageing than a hardier finish. I really love minimalist acoustics though so that prospect actually sits quite nicely with me!

Well it's funny... this thread was the first I heard about the naked series. Living in Australia, Faith guitars are a bit of a commodity. There's not many around! Our big chain record store over here JB Hi Fi (who also sell fridges and TVs and stereos and phones - you name it) recently branched out in to guitars too. They started out by getting just some cheapy sorta crappy "nobody" brand electrics and acoustics, then they started picking things up a bit and Cort and PRS and ESP started appearing and now they've got Faith as well?! I just found a Venus Naked hanging on the wall in my local store yesterday so I had to pick it up and have a go.

Now, they're not the kinda store who employs people who know stuff about guitars because they sell so many different things they just need customer service. The only places they seem to have 'specialist' staff is for computers. They have guys walking around in Apple and Microsoft tees down there. So really, when you pick up a guitar in that shop, you're relying on it being good out of the box and I have to say that off the bat the Venus Naked did N-O-T disappoint. It just played so easy, felt so natural!

Problem is now I want one. :D And I can't afford it. :(

    What to do!

Are they solid tops by the way does anyone know?

I have a Cort and that's not 'finished' and so yes it's got a few dings and stuff on it but nothing noticeable (though it is a solid top so I don't know if that makes a difference/makes it stronger?)

Faith guitars are always all-solid - including back and sides. It's one of the values the company really strives to live by and that's why the Naked series are so stripped back - so that cash-strapped chumps like us can get in on the action! Great guitars.
