MIC Burny's

What's Hot
Arktik83Arktik83 Frets: 431
Does/Has anyone owned one of these and what are they like?  As stated in my Vintage "paradise" guitar thread I'm looking to get an LP on a limited budget (around £750) but it'd have to be a place where I can use a credit card so classified's etc wouldn't be an option ;)

What are your thoughts on MIC Burny's and MIC LP's in general?

Cheers!

    Go Edwards

    and order from Ishibashi ;-)
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

You could use your credit card to pay anyone via PayPal, just log out of your account and use the "don't have PayPal option"

Dunno about the mic ones but I bought a secondhand mij one a few years ago 2nd hand for £450, a set of bk pickups, again second hand for about £130. Lot of guitar for that cash.

There's a Burny LP Special copy for £449 in the shop I work for if you're interested, but to be honest for £750 you could easily get a very nice second hand Gibson Les Paul Studio, even from a shop.

Are LP Studio's a better bet then?  Last one I had was a 2008 and the fingerboard seemed to have been over-zealously shaved so was a little short on the bass side.

You have to take every Gibson on its own merits - or lack of! They're very variable.

QC and consistency for the Japanese brands is higher, but they never seem to quite have the tone or the feel of the real thing, at least to me.

I know what you mean, I had one of the first LP trads and I've always, always regretted selling it.

Having tried a few Chinese Burny's from the sadly defunct Oxford Music Gallery, I'd avoid them like the plague. For that budget you can easily get a s/h Jap Tokai LS85 or even 120 !, or even an Epiphone Elite .

For £750 I'd be looking at a Gibson Les Paul Studio personally (could probably be cheaper).

Try a WTB on the classified here and see what comes up.
