It's not The First Time they've invested in techy stuff- Bono also owns $1bn or so of Facebook iirc. The problem at Fender is with the amount of Silver and Gold that Guitar Center owes they're Running To Stand Still. Just hope it's not a total Lemon, but they obviously have the Desire to make it work. Could be Magnificent news for all parties if they bring out the right products. I'd rather the company change a fair bit than end up Gone.

The sweetest thing would be they are now too busy to bother hawking their music round the world.

I was on a flight a while back and there was an ad in the business magazine. It was for Gucci (I think) luggage. The premise of the ad was that bono and Ali (his wife) only use Gucci luggage while in Africa on their humanitarian jaunts. It was the oddest concept for an ad.

Keith Richards (seriously) did a similar ad of him in a hotel room with a LV luggage set and a black 60's 355. To be fair, that looked quite good, but there was more leather in his face than the bags.

I believe Bonio calls him simply "Edge".

A bit like Sting - it probably all seemed like a very good idea when they were young.

I watched "This Might Get Loud" with Jimmy Page, Jack White and The Edge and I thought he was great. It's a really good watch / Listen for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Agreed, very harsh.

On Live at Red Rocks Bonio yells out 'this is the Edge...' before a mighty solo comes in (two notes and a lot of delay). But maybe they've now dropped the 'the'?
