I'm sensing an opportunity to keep the forum funds nicely topped up.

Can't quite put my finger on it *yet* ...

    :D
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

Ebay can get stuffed.  This is all just going to bump prices up on everything since "some" people will know they can manipulate the system and get refunds at a later date, whilst some sellers will decide it's not worth the hassle anymore.

You may well be right .I would count as a business seller as I have a little ebay shop to sell models but sometimes I sell other stuff .maybe I need two accounts private and business .

I'm sure it will be general. It would be crazy for business sellers to be hammered by this and not private sellers.

Normally I think there's a lot of completely unnecessary whining about PayPal but on the face of it this seems nuts.

Most of the whining about Paypal and Ebay has been pretty fair. The complaints about regular fee rises, the moment fees were dumped onto postage, the push for free postage, the absolutely fucking hideous Seller Dashboard and DSR system, all of these were rightly criticised.

It's all well and good making buyers feel safe but sellers need to as well. There will be nobody selling if they carry on like this!

I'm not sure that Feebay want private sellers anymore.  I think they might be trying to drive them off.

I think they own Gumtree these days as well.

What's Loot like these days?  Time to all go back to it?

I generally sell guitars on consignment in a shop.  Safer and you normally  get more money as well.

Ebay want the big box shifters. Private sellers and small business sellers are not popular with them.

    Until the shop goes bust.

There's big changes this month to mail order consumer rights, ebay have just gone a bit bonkers.

I am all for giving buyers confidence to buy but this is just nuts, buying only for me now.

Thing is 45 days is silly for second hand goods like amps and what have you because a twat can do a lot of damage to a 2nd hand amp in 45 days.

Not to mention idiots that will use it to reverse buyer's remorse or use as a cheap alternative to hiring gear.

How do you set up the burden of proof fairly?

  • eBay has always done sweet f.a to help sellers more.

They couldn't care less about sellers being out of pocket and conned. As long as the buyers happy.

The problem with EBay is there's no real direct competition. It's the go to sight for most buyers and sellers.Until there's a viable, less unscrupulous alternative, its off to the classifieds for me.
