Andy and I started talking a year or more  ago when I wanted a 'turquoise' (surf green) guitar like this http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/AndyP335/CS1960/CS1960incase.jpg

Andy invented a new colour and called it T-bird.  This is how it turned out  http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/AndyP335/WudtoneTBirdproject/WudtoneStratTbirdfront3coats.jpg  It wasn't what I wanted so I commissioned Andy to do something a bit more ambitious.  This is how that turned out http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/AndyP335/WudtoneTBirdproject/Banshee-001.png
And this is how the guitar 'Krakatoa' finally emerged http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/AndyP335/WudtoneTBirdproject/Krakatoa-1.jpg  Those are LH stagger Suhr V60's I swapped with @frankus.  The tone is to die for, as is my Wudtone tele project - pics to follow

Oh yeah and that's a Wudtone trem bridge too.

WOW - that looks awesome.   I'd be really interested to know how that finish was done?

As to how Andy did the painting you'll have to ask @andypwudtone.  Otherwise standard Wudtone matte finish with some gold sparkles in.  Wudtone gets a lovely 'aged' patina very quickly.

great to see this finished, and glad your enjoying , so unique,  keep playing ( or burnishing with a bit of plain old photocopy paper)to accelerate the development of the Patina.

would love to see a pic of body with dark back ground highlighting the few sparkles in ti , I really liked that effect.

    How is the bridge performing?
many thanks in advance of reply

I can't say it's MY style, but on a strat I do like it, and it looks like it's nicely done :)
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

Can't say it's anyone's style - yet.  As Andy says, it's unique.  It's already had a couple of 'treatments', starting off with a maple neck and white scratchplate, but I felt it needed a dark neck to set the body off.  Ebony would have been ideal, but I didn't have one spare, so rosewood it is for now.  The abalone inlays are an important feature too.  The white scratchplate still worked, but I tried the blue mirror for fun and it lifted the whole guitar to a new - if possibly less 'tasteful' - plane. A black plate would be more conservative and bring it back from the bling. Whatever, it's all over your average Ibanez (say).  More crucially, it plays beautifully, and sounds amazing - which is what matters, end of.

Constant pivot trem is the best of the 'alternative' tremolo bridges I've tried: doesn't hold tune as effectively as a Trem-King, but has a better 'feel' than the latter.  The 1018 steel block is key: many people don't realise a major component of strat tone is the block and indeed the trem springs themselves.

Will do some more pics sometime.  No dark backgrounds in my house, so maybe at a gig. The glitter is subtle, needs to be spotlit to see.

Some forumites may remember I bought a vintage nitro tint tele neck for a project which was 'too orange'. I didn't really know what to do with it http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/AndyP335/Tele necks/3telenecks.jpg so offered it for sale here as I recall - no takers QED.

Then later I bought a tele body from @ThePrettyDamned which he had painted using Wudtone 'Surfer Girl'.  http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/AndyP335/WudtoneTBirdproject/WudtoneTBirdTele.jpg  The irony was it looked a lot like the original job I had done on the strat.

Anyway, I was talking to Mark @Chris_akaBBB and Jane at Custom Cool Etch at the time and saw a tele scratchplate on their website which I thought would work with that body and neck.  Mark was apologetic as he said the photographer had photoshopped the pic out of all semblance to reality.  However I got chatting with Jane who was up for a bit of experimentation. <a href="http://s691.photobucket.com/user/AndyP335/media/Custom Cooltech/Red_GreenPlate2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/AndyP335/Custom Cooltech/Red_GreenPlate2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Red_GreenPlate2.jpg"/></a> The result was this.

And the end product, complete with a 'Special Edition' set of Mojo '53 pups from Marc, is this: <a href="http://s691.photobucket.com/user/AndyP335/media/Custom Cooltech/WudtoneSurferGirlCCE-2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/AndyP335/Custom Cooltech/WudtoneSurferGirlCCE-2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo WudtoneSurferGirlCCE-2.jpg"/></a>  Thought of calling it 'The Countryman', but that limits it as well as not acknowledging the feminine artistic inputs (see above). The tone is quite amazing, one of the best classic teles you have ever heard.  Even my bassist could not help saying how good the tone was (and what do bassists know about it ?)

    Above picture a bit dull.  This does it better justice, but it's overcast outside today <a href="http://s691.photobucket.com/user/AndyP335/media/Custom Cooltech/WudtoneSurferGirlCCE-1.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/AndyP335/Custom Cooltech/WudtoneSurferGirlCCE-1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo WudtoneSurferGirlCCE-1.jpg"/></a>

Nice, both lovely guitars, though I have to say the paint doesn't quite seem to have mixed properly on the first one

Another Custom Cooletch job (not Wudtone but nitro), USACG contour body, Lollar Vintage pups, but seem to be high putput, very early Led Zep sonically http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/AndyP335/Custom Cooltech/Samuraiclose.jpg

    Latest (and maybe the last ?) of my tele builds. Maple top, mahogany body, ElDorado hardware, except for the tuners which are Gotoh 510's http://www.sinewavemusic.co.uk/guitar-parts/contemporary/gotoh-510-tuners-3-per-side---gold-173.html? ;

Been trying to decide how to finish her.  She has an excellent flame.  Thinking maybe Wudtone Honey front and Carmine Gypsy rear, but she might take something more exotic or indeed more plain like the straight gloss.  What d'you reckon ? a href="http://s691.photobucket.com/user/AndyP335/media/Thinline project/Thinline0814.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/AndyP335/Thinline project/Thinline0814.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Thinline0814.jpg"/></a>
