  • I never saw it at the time, but here's Marillion in their early prime And the majestic Mike Scott and The Waterboys (rubbish quality unfortunately and they never seem to include their appearances on the repeats/DVDs :-( )

Loved the old black and white cartoons and footage they used on some tracks. Can't find the cartoon I remember for Achilles Last Stand, but here's another Zeppelin track with the sort of footage I'm on about...

And one of my all time favourites...

  • I've come across some good vids on youtube from that show.

Never forgiven Janet Street-Porter for cancelling TOGWT.  At least Jools' Later is kind of a replacement.

Here's more wierdness, Roxy Music (still with Brian Eno then) - Ladytron

  • Think I only saw it about twice. I bought my brother the DVD box set of the shows a couple of years ago and must borrow it at some point.
I have a distinct memory of Wreckless Eric over one of those B&W montages and very much recall ZZ Top.I had read about them in Sounds and persuaded my parents to let me stay up to watch them on OGWT. I have seen a lot of the other band clips since but seeing ZZ Top doing Jesus JLC when I was still a school lad was mind blowing.
