3-Knob BK Butler Tube Driver (TubeWorks) Power

Good Morning Forum-Folks!

I have a 3-Knob (steady now) BK Butler TubeDriver. Does anybody know whether I can put 18v into it (It says 9v but I'm feeling greedy) to give it a bit of a kick? Only reason I ask is that the 18v outputs on my board power supply aren't really being used (apart from powering an Ethos TLE) and I could put one of them into the TubeDriver. Obviously I don't want to kill the pedal as its getting on now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi

Seems to go fine with 9v power supplies between 200 and 300mA.

Heard some using them on 12v but not on 18.

  • @swlabr Thanks for the info. If I'm feeling brave I'll give it a go later.

    Regards

You have ICs in the Tube Driver as well as the Valve, i wouldn't chance 18v unless someone more knowledgeable like @ICBM thinks it is safe.  Better late than fried !

  • @ChrisMusic... That is true. Don't want to fry it. When I said I'd try it... I meant try at 12v. ;)
