Preston Reed - yay or nay?

Preston Reed is playing in my local in a fortnight's time.
I know he's incredibly talented but I'm getting bored of the tappy/bangy thing now so don't know if I want to go to the gig.

I have seen a couple of videos on YouTube and have heard about his 'greatness' but will I get bored after 20 minutes? Tickets are £15...

    I've never heard of him.

I would look on YT, but I'm watching "Fargo".

No? He kinda pioneered the whole style from what I understand, I thought he was well known!
Big influence on Andy McKee and Jon Gomm.

I remember hearing ladies night on a guitarist CD years ago. I think it might be worth a punt (i too have grown tired of the whole tappy acoustic guitar thing)
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

Me too. It's alright, but just not something I'd listen to ordinarily.

Yeah ditto, I always regretted not going along to the local jazz pub years ago to see some bloke called Wayne Krantz! (Didn't know who he was back then!)

I'd probably get bored. I did with Kaki King, but then after two albums of instrumental tappy stuff she got bored with it too, and started writing songs which occasionally feature tappy guitar playing... which is a different thing entirely. So unless Preston Reed has done the same, nay.
