Cool...I'm off to see them in Birmingham on Monday. Got meet & greet passes for the aftershow...which, really, are worth a lot less than they seemed to be when we paid for them. It's just one photo, one thing signed and a 30 second conversation. Meh.

Colour me excited for next Friday in N-berg!

I want to know if Nuno picks all the notes in the He-Man Woman Hater riff. Yes. I know.

Yep. And the solo was cock-on!
I think there was a slight "issue" in The Flight of the Wounded Bumble-bee. As in a blipped note - which of course with the delay causes chaos. But that was it

He used to (Pornograffiti-era and early III Sides shows), but not all the time these days. I'm going to be watching like a hawk, too ;)

Bit of a let down for me sound wise, band were great and gave a great show but nearly all of porno, the vocals weren't loud enough and Nuno's guitar in certain ranges sounded like a speaker had crapped out, always evident on chords? I was about 20 back from the front and as Trolley said hot & sweaty x10. Crowd were right behind the band.
Nice to say I'd seen them tour one of my fave albums first time round in Manchester then again now, but I just wish it would have been an issue free sound bar that it was great.
Also, I have to say they must be the only rock band who don't really look as if they've aged.
    :)

Saw them last night in Glasgow. Outstanding. I'm gonna say its been my favourite live show so far! Drummer is absolutely top notch, and nuno didnt miss a note! Even Cherone sounded amazing!  Well played lads!

Ha. Maybe I could, if I'd not been been trying and failing to play that riff for almost twenty years... ;-)

@funkyfraz Frashy! Hadn't seen you over here yet, was wondering if you'd made it! How ya been?

A lot of people were complaining about the sound at the Glasgow gig - to the point where the band seemed really grateful when we told them it was awesome at the meet and greet.

Last night was definitely the best live sound I've ever encountered at a show...everything was perfectly mixed, and the overall level was relatively low (no ringing in the ears afterwards). It even edged out the time I saw Satch on the Extremist tour at the NEC, back in...1992?

I saw them tonight in London.

    FUCKING HELL.

I am now dedicating my life to becoming as much like Nuno Bettencourt as possible.

I saw the Pornografitti tour first time around (at the Marquee) and Nuno was amazing . Wish I had gone this time . Sounds like he still has the fire.

Yup. A bit special, wasn't it? Good to hear it sounded just as good last night :) What was the crowd's performance like during More Than Words? In Birmingham, you could barely hear Nuno's guitar over the sound of a few thousand people singing...

I believe the correct word to use is "stirring".

Yes, that's definitely the correct word. I don't even like that song on a CD...live, it's an entirely different proposition. Weirdly, it's actually better for the fact that it's not really the band playing it at all.

I mean really... he's one of the very, very best rock guitarists in the world, he's a great singer, writes great songs and guitar parts, found out last night that he's a great pianist as well, and he's presumably making a boatload of money touring with Rihanna and Extreme, and he still looks like a film star at 47, after 25 years of touring. Do you see my point? :D

Don't forget the fact that, because he started out on drums, he's actually a pretty spectacular drummer too.

... and he moved from drums to playing bass...

But he is supposed to have a bad attitude, for all I care about that. I'm very unlikely to be in a position to become close to him, so I can continue to enjoy his musical output undaunted by his personality.
