Nice one. I missed the first 15mins of the Sound City film last time it was on, but loved the rest (I was on Amazon ordering the soundtrack as the credits rolled).

I'm out Friday but might have to give this a view on catch-up...

I've seen Sound City and it's fucking marvellous.

Sound City is great. Even my wife enjoyed it. Even my wife.

The riff thing looks good, judging from the ad. Thanks for the reminder!

Already spotted the guitar riff ones and Tivo'd (in case I want to watch it a hundred times.)

    Seen Sound City before, excellent.

SO SO SO Fckuing annoyed me that the Tin Pan  Alley (aka history of Denmark Street) doc on BBC Radio 2 was pulled prematurely on the iPlayer last  week, cos Danny Baker got some facts about the Kinks wrong... bastard... was going to grab it and host on YT....

Just watched the riff programme. Did they really feature Heart and not mention Hendrix?

It's one of a series, each episode is focussing on different musical periods of a few years.

Maybe I saw something different then on iplayer - covered from Chuck Berry through to Nirvana.

Yeah, but those all took place within a 40 year period. There'll be another programme on Django, Segovia, etc, and another on John Dowland, ...

...what you tend to find with these BBC4 music docs is that they segment up the interviews into different programme/subjects...so part of an interview and topic is discussed for Sound City and then something else will appear in say a prog about Fleetwood Mac etc...

The Sound City one was good by the way if you didn't see it first time round... I worked with the Ad Agency that had the Neve account...

I was pretty disappointed in the show TBH, typical mish mash without much sense.

Wayne Kramer sitting there with a guitar and not even playing or showing Kick Out The Jams??
    :-O Iconic riff.

They seemed to spend a lot of time with a woman from Heart and no Pagey?

Strange that they couldn't get Ritchie Blackmore to talk about Smoke on the water either. ;)
