I've got a blank control plate, which'll be drilled for a 3-way toggle, a couple of push/push pots, and a blower switch.
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

Nice, I've never actually played a tele with proper wide ranges in it.

  • Contemplating wide range in the neck of my project Tele, be very interested to hear what you think

Sorry @PVO_Dave - missed your Q.  But the thinline Tele is Saffron, not Dairy Blonde.

Got it almost finished this afternoon.  But then I found that I didn't have a 12mm metal drill bit, so I couldn't drill the final hole in the control plate blank.  Pah.

This is the control plate template ... 3-way toggle, a couple of push-push pots and a mini-toggle to be a blower switch ...

Tip of the afternoon ... if you're ever drilling a metal control plate, screw it down tight to a piece of scrap

@PVO_Dave, here you go, this one is Dairy Blonde, over Ash.

Mixed "carefully" to match this one (from last summer)  ...

Cheers @TTony - any idea roughly on the mix? Going to start mine in an hour or so, thinking I might try for a touch darker :)

I'll check how much of each colour I've got left a bit later ...

Just been out to check how much I used of each colour ... And it looks like 2:1 / 3:1 white:dairy.  As I recall, once the dairy goes in, it take an awful lot of white to lighten the colour, so I'd start with the white, and then add the dairy very gradually until you get the colour that you want.  I mix mine in old mini-vodka bottles which are clear glass, so it's easy to see the colour develop.

Thanks Tony, just finished the first coat, went for a less scientific approach of marking the bottle and very roughly working out to add just more than half of the yellow.

I'll post a thread detailing the build when I'm not on a mobile device.
