Service for Cornell or just a new Output valve??

I have a Cornell Romany Plus which is 12 years old. Has had very light occasional use at home and never gigged.
Never been opened or serviced.
I think clean headroom may have diminished slightly. (Or.....maybe it could it be slight hearing loss?   :-S   )

Does an amp with such little use need a proper service or should I just replace the output valve??

Have you dropped Denis Cornell an email, I've always found him really helpful? That said if it's just a 6l6 output valve it won't hurt to try another one in place?

+1 to asking Denis what he thinks directly. I have visited his workshop on a number of occasions and dealt directly with him. Very approachable and will always talk straight if you do or do not need to spend any money. Top bloke.

The thread that monquixote started in Amps (An Admission...) has answered most of my questions. I am very sensitive to small changes (the amp is used clean but very loud at home) and the obvious answer is to "just try it".
