Guitar Stands - Balancing Practicality Vs Aesthetics

What's Hot

Was looking for a few new stands for the studio and spotted these -

Whilst they are aesthetically pleasing I'm not sure about the practicalities.  Secure fixing isn't so much of an issue, but my main query is has anyone had any of witnessed bad effects on Gibbo finishes due to long term exposure to arse crack sweat (no questions asked)?  I know it's a pretty specific question and probably a long shot but you never know, do you?

Butt it's too cheeky for me. I don't really get the crack like that.

Might cause a few bum notes.

I heard that too.  They did have an older model in there (it was discounted as it had some dimpling and spotting) but it did had a nice furry pad where the neck sits which I thought may offer more protection but was still concerned in case it increased sweating.

I have seen these before. Something to bear in mind is the quality can vary dramatically. The ones that tend to come from the US, Brazil and Sweden are just great. The Bradford ones are crap.

What is curious is that they come in various sizes, form small to really, really wide, yet still only hold on guitar!

Without getting too anal about it but if you get one with a touch of Delhi Belly it could be nasty.

At least you may get the famous "brown sound" more easily.
