Just ordered a new harness and hand wound set of Alnico II Zebra pickups off Marc at Mojo Pickups, to replace the PCB board and stock pickups in one of my 2013 Les Pauls.

) I've planned for the visual, my current pickups have the cover on them, as the new ones are Zebra thats an obvious sign. Hence the "no love just took the pickups covers off to get a higher output sound" Do you use the gradually introduce things into view technique and then say "noooo I've had that for years", I did this with a full new pedalboard, full of new MXR pedals, Boss pedals , fulltone etc, not one question

So long as she gets to buy clothes, shoes, handbags, go on holiday and have a new bathroom every 10 years, she's very tolerant of my acquisitions. In fact she sometimes humours me like I'm a small boy who's just got a new locomotive for his train set... 

So we get on just great!

I've managed to sneak a good few bits in under the pretence that I've done trades. I think she smells a rat though.
That might have been the full Matamp stack in red sparkle tolex that did that .......... Or the series2000 set.............or the..............yeah, my gas is out of control.
I find that having a storage cupboard at our rehearsal space helps greatly.

I think it's a mutual "lack of omission" ... i.e. the guitar equivalent of "what, this old thing? Picked it up in the sale _years_ ago..."
