This is the cabinet/combo mounted version that will handle anything up to 45 Watts at 4,8 or 16 Ohms. Try this in an AC-30 or Fender Hot Rod Deluxe/Deville and you'll be amazed.

I've just acquired a Dr Z Brakelight, exactly like this one here... Previously, I'd owned a Jim Kelley Attenuator (at some £499 mind),

and the Dr Z is superior, imho...

An amazing device, which really improves live and home use.

it says onthe blurb that it hasto be mounted to operate - is that right or could I have one laying alongside the amp unattached?

This one is open on one side, so should really be mounted inside a cab or combo etc. They manufacture a free standing version although the workings are identical. I'm at work so don't have it with me but this is what it looks like mounted in a situ..

It will work unattached but guts would be exposed which might be risky?
