Who would like plastic banknotes? (see bbc)

I agree there are many advantages but I like to fold a banknote into 3 to slip into my slim metal case that's credit card sized and holds a few business cards, my MU card, my debit card, and a folded banknote - means I can travel light if I need to. I don't think I could do that with a plastic banknote. Otherwise I don't think I would mind them. Any other opinions?

Isle of Man had plasticised banknotes 30yrs ago ......felt a bit odd, but nowt wrong with them

I used plastic bank notes in Australia; they are fine, and foldy. They had a see-through bit, don't get that with your old-skool paper money!

They were invented by an Aussie scientist.

I believe that Australia also manufactures much of the world's plastic banknotes as well.

They really are a great invention- you can go swimming with them in your pocket.

There is also a good bar bet where you give someone (usually a tourist) a $50 bill and tell them you will buy them drinks if they can rip it in half.

If they can't then the drink are on them.

They cannot be ripped- at least I've never seen anyone able to do it.

they prefer the term prepper (which is different from a preppy). I've met one or two, and they're an odd bunch, even by my standards.
