Just finished this today. I built a guitar last year for my son and liked it so much I decided to build one for myself. This is a Poplar body with maple neck and Tru oil finish. Pickups are currently a Tonerider Vintage Plus in the Bridge and a GFS 63 Tele in the neck. I may change them for some of the Oil City pickups i have in various Tele partscasters.

Somewhat surprisingly it plays really well, nice low action and only one high fret spot to sort out. Its nearly a Tele, although you can see that the headstock is a bit thin and I've had to cut the scratchplate down as the lower bout came out a bit pointy. Both the result of excessive router zeal, a good lesson for next time. The ferrules are not quite in line and there are loads of other imperfections. All in all I'm very pleased with it. Not bad for £180 and about 50 hours of work.

I have a lovely piece of swamp ash in the garage just waiting to be attacked with a bandsaw. Another Tele I think...
