Jazzmaster Guitar Body to bass?

Hi
I recently brought an unfinished jm body with the intension of creating a white jm/jaguar guitar with bigsby similar to barrie codagons. Having thought about it I really need a bass so can I use the jm body for a bass. Obviously I would need to do a bit of work like router the neck pocket bigger and block in the tremelo rout etc this wouldn't be a problem as I intend to finish in a solid colour so any reason I shouldn't attempt it?

I dont think it would if its done right.

Someone like @WezV could probably give you the low down on this
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.
