Another P-Bass pickup question

Finishing my bass build today, hopefully.  In theory :) well, except the battery box, which I don't have...

Anyway, I'm screwing the pickup in - it goes straight into the wood, and I'm using a pair of screws and springs.

Is this all I need, or should I have some foam underneath the pickup?  It's a Bartolini 8TC active pickup.

It'll be more stable with some dense foam. Are you likely to be using  the edge of the pickup as a 'thunmb/finger rest'? If so, I'd definitely add some foam.

Have you got any old pickup boxes? The stuff Seymour Duncan use to hold the pickups works well for this.

    Only OCP ones.

I'm keeping the bass, it actually looks really quite lovely, so I figure I might as well dedicate and get the Gotoh double battery box.

As it now has 4 tuners attached, it's looking more like a bass now.  Odd, I barely notice the tuners when I look at guitars, but without them they look weird!
