Patch cable recommendation

I need a few patch leads, but would prefer to make them myself.  I can't afford to go "pro" with Lava cable or anything like that, so could anyone recommend a brand and supplier of reasonably decent cable?

  • Have a look at Studiospares, their own brand stuff is generally good and well-priced. For my pedalboard I used the narrower, more flexible stuff referred to as "installation cable"

Van Damme cable is pretty cheap, ~£1/m

    Kabl?

Problem is, with good quality jacks (cable is cheap!) the price soon creeps up - look at the price of a neutrik right angled jack and you'll see what I mean.

Quality pancake jacks cost even more, about 6 quid a pop iirc!

I use van damme pro - it's about 1.15 per metre on ebay.

  • Yes, I'd wager that Kabl would be able to undercut the price of making your own by a good margin. Economies of scale and all that.
