    There's a Gibson showroom near Vatican in Prati. Rome isn't exactly a guitar player's dream destination. Go and get some culture, mannn.

  • Don't hang about at the Forum: too many Romans hanging about and getting shirty while discussing guitars.

  • There's a small but fantastically well stocked (especially boutique pedals) shop on the large road that goes between the coliseum and the main train station. The road is called Via Cavour. I went at Easter and its got loads of drooly stuff. Not particularly cheap though.

    I think I saw that from an open top bus. Single from shop with loads of pedals in the window?

    Knowing my luck, if I went to Rome any guitar shop would be closed. I went there years ago and everything was closed, turned off, boarded up, covered in scaffolding... I saw the Vatican but that was about it. Trevi fountain? Dry. The forum? Plywood shuttering all around it. Couldn't even see it, never mind go into it. I must go back some time and see what I missed the first time.

    Nearly got the rage on last time I was in Rome..

    I was walking towards the Coliseum and as I passed a couple of uber geek American students one of them turned the other and said.
    "I'm about to have a very specific water need.."
    WTF ?

    Mind you whilst I was there I did run into this bloke at the Trasimeno Blues festival;

    And he let me have a go on a few. Woot !

    As @Loobs said, get some culture! It's an amazing city. Really bloody expensive though.

    I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

    But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
