    I've been remiss too.

Q1: Total lack of imagination - first name and first letter of surname.

Q2: Currently the rather damp South West of France, but originally from rather nice rural Essex.

Q3: To summon the courage to play out with other musicians.

Q4: My new FSR American Strat. I just love every aspect of it.

    Q5: Bargain - The Who.

  • I've just signed up, so here goes....

Q1:  Where did you username come from?

The 'oozelumbird' is a mythical creature, that flies in ever decreasing circles before disappearing up its own backside. (Taken from a Carry On film....)

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

    North East Wales

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

I'm on the edge of 40, play in a Funk covers band, and an original band - so it's just to carry on, and have fun.

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

I've got a few nice guitars, but the one that has a special place in my heart is my battered '85 MIJ Squier tele

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

Argh this is hard!! I'll go today for All Along the Watchtower, as it introduced me in my younger years to Hendrix, and naughty guitar playing.

Its the name of my favourite guitarist!

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

    Bristol

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

To write songs for other people to record and be heard by millions (and make some money from the thing I love!)

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

Tokai ST80 that I bought with my first student grant cheque (anyone remember student grants?). Closely followed by two recent acquisitions - an E-Series Squier Strat and a Morris Hurricane Tele (all of which cost me less than £200 each).

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

I Want You - Elvis Costello - incredible lyrics and my kind of guitar solo!

It appears that i have never done this either.....

I am Andy. I used to be 'Backtrackin' on 6 string heaven but i was never on MR.
I grew up in Liverpool, left in 1991 and then proceeded to keep moving around the UK and Europe, driving Trucks until 2009 when i finally settled down. I recently gave up driving Trucks for a living for medical / health reasons and now i'm on 'The Musicians Scholarship' at home 24/7.

1 - My Username is 'Alnico' because i was looking at new pickups when i signed up here and due to a long standing smoking habit, i am quite often 'Potted' !
2 - I am in Bedford, right next to where RAF Cardington used to be, next to the Airship Hangars.
3 - My main musical ambition is to be able to play lead guitar well enough to actually be creative with it and to get my fingers to move faster than a slug on methadone.
4 - My best bit of gear is my Fender / Feline Telecaster.
5 - My #1 ever track is 'Somebody to Love' by Jefferson Airplane. (This might change !)

  • Ooh, I did the original 10 questions, but I've never done this one.

    1. Username comes from the fact that my name is Dennis, but when I joined there was already someone on here using that as their forum name, so I'm obviously the other one (I think he subsequently changed his name, but I'm too lazy to do that.)
    2. I live in Lutterworth in Leicestershire
    3. My main musical ambition is to be able to play in a band to a good enough standard to keep my place, and to be able to improvise along with other musicians.
    4. My best bit of gear I think is my Avalon A200 Gold CE.
    5. I can't possibly say what my number one track is, as it changes on a daily basis.

  • Q1: Where did you username come from?
A friend couldn't pronounce 'Lucozade' when we were kids, it came out as 'Zukabak' for some reason and it just stuck with me. Plus it's unique, so you don't tend to find it already registered. :)

To be able to just sit in on a jam and be completely comfortable.

  • Hi!

    Thanks for having me on-board!

  • Q1:  Where did you username come from? It's my name, I'm not very imaginative!

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you? I'm originally from the West Midlands, now living in sunny north Wiltshire with my wife, 1 year old daughter and 2 cats

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition? Just to get back out playing again. Pretty much gave up playing when my daughter was born due to time/ noise/ tiredness etc, and now we're in the middle of moving house all my stuff is packed away at the sister in laws! Must get something back!

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one? I have 'better' and 'more expensive' guitars but the one that will never leave me is my early 2000's Epi Les Paul in wine red with a 'Bigsby', upgraded @Shugz wiring loom and some Seymour Duncan pickups (which I think I want to change - not sure what to though). For some reason this one just seems to fit me properly, and sounds loads better since the wiring upgrade so always went to gigs with me.

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one? Oh blimey, I've absolutely no idea. Entirely depends on my mood for the day...though my favourite to play live was a mash up of Good Times and Rappers Delight...and I got to rap! It wasn't as good as it sounds!
