Hi, only been playing for 3 months since having a 35 year lay off. Feeling a little rusty (slight understatement).

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

A1: It's an old nickname from many years ago.

A2: Living in Surrey at the moment but hopefully moving to Dorset soon.

A3: To learn to play guitar and get pleasure from it.

A4: Fender Telecaster...which is far too good for my ability.

A5: Couldn't possibly think of just the one.

My name is Chris and from Cambridge. I'm 50, picked up a guitar 3 years ago to inspire my son who has lessons.
My fingers are short and stiff. No barre chords for me. But I can still make some half decent noise.

Q1:  My username is my birth name.

Q2:  I live in the U.S. in the state of North Carolina in a town called, Murphy.

Q3:  My main musical ambition used to be to want to be successful and "make it" as a guitarist or singer but my health issues (Cerebral Palsy & Hydrocephalus - both of those I was born with - and now I'm battling Congenital Heart Disease) stopped that from happening.  Now, I just want to accomplish my goal of having  my dream drum kit built which is a replica of the Ludwig blue sparkle double-bass kit that Elvis Presley's former drummer, Ronnie Tutt, used from the Fall of 1970 until the Summer/Fall of 1974.

Q4:  My best bit of gear?  That would have to be the Clarence White B-bender replica Telecaster that I had custom-built for me by a friend here in the States.

Q5:  My #1 favorite track?  I don't know if I could name just one since I'm a huge Elvis Presley fan & a huge Marty Stuart fan.  I guess if I had to pick one from Elvis, it would be the live versions of "Suspicious Minds" and if I had to pick one from Marty Stuart, it would definitely have to be a song from his current studio CD, "Way Out West", that's titled, "Wait For The Morning"......it's absolutely gorgeous and Marty really lets "Clarence" (Clarence White's old '54 Fender Telecaster with the prototype "B-Bender") shine on that track and it reminds you a bit of some of the later Byrds songs.

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

I couldn't pick a favourite, but one I would love to play most right now is Hotel California.

  • Hi, found this website after looking for info on the Birmingham Guitar Show, which I unfortunately missed this year.

Q1: Ever had one of those times when a random word just pops into your head? I blame the giant crab on Moana!

Q2: I have moved about a bit with work, but at the mo my home is in the West Midlands.

Q3: I'm mostly a bedroom player these days but I hope to start making stuff in my studio again pretty soon.

Q4: Probably my Chapman ML2 Goldtop, a surprisingly good guitar for the money.

Q5: A tough one, but if forced, I'd probably have to say Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam. Not least because there seems to be no definitive version, every recording I have heard has been different, and just as good.

  • The Witchcrafter comes from my recently setup business where I work repairing guitar pedals or Electric guitar and basses, mainly the electronic parts. I am, 35, originally from Portugal but I've been living in London for almost 3 years now. My main instrument is the bass but I play guitar as well and I would love to live solely on Music, either making it or building the tools for it or assisting others in the process. My bit of gear would be a Wal bass that perhaps one day I will be able to afford it.

    Morphine- Buena is the Track!!!
