Composition Challenge #5 " Back to the 80's"

I for one was rather hoping that some of the "big names" might accidentally forget to enter this time =] purely selfishly so that I might get some points haha

But I all seriousness, we all know the joint most fun bit about this is hearing other people's submissions, I love the listening part and can't wait to hear these (even though I'm not usually an 80s fan!)

I've just recorded the bassline on mine. Need to record the lead part and guitar solo now. I think I may leave the cut/pasted guide rhythm guitars as they are, seeing as there's only 9 days left to get this finished. Hopefully I'll get it finished in time.

I'm not sure how '80s' it will sound to anyone else but it's a lot like what I was writing when I first got heavily into Zappa back then.

I'm excited for this one, I think there should be an awesome variety of stuff to listen to this time. Though if I'd done what steamabacus said and done something in the style of music I was into during the 80s, it would have been something along the lines of Twinkle Twinkle, Mary had a Little Lamb or Little Boxes made of Ticky Tacky

As I'm not a big name I'm going to enter ... I've nearly finished mine which is a first for me. Actually ahead of the game for a change ...

Just recorded the final guitar solo on mine today. A bit of a spit and polish on the final mix and It'll be done. Should get that done Friday or Saturday.

These two month deadlines are really tight.

not 100% sure yet but I like that idea of writing a song to lyrics so what I might do is pick a famous poem and get people to write music that they feel mimics the emotion of the poem.
