We had one of these for guitars, but I don't remember one for pedals and fx and thought it might be interesting. What are the classic records you associate with particular pedals?

For instance;

Z-Vex Fuzz Factory
Muse - Plug In Baby

Marshall Shredmaster
Radiohead - Creep

Roger Linn Adrenalinn 1/2/3
John Mayer - Bigger Than My Body
Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams

    Now you mention it I have a feeling the bass bit is POG and the high bits may be Whammy.

  • I thought he didn't get a POG until the net album (i.e. Blue Orchid)? Pretty sure his touring rig was just an NYC Big Muff and a Whammy during Elephant and before?

  • It Might Get Loud shows him using a Whammy for Seven Nation Army, IIRC

    Used on every Hendrix record ever. Trower, Beck, Moore, and other people who would almost certainly endorse our great Vertex pedals.*

    There are so many pedals and pedal variations now that even though you here a song that may sound like such-and-such a pedal has been used, it could well be a clone. Muse mentioned in the OP is a good example though, as I haven't encountered anything that sounds like a Fuzz Factory.

    It's already been mentioned but I guess I now associate Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins as an example of how good a Big Muff can sound. Plenty of Dinosaur Jr records rely on that pedal too.

    Has anyone of note outside of Albini used an Interfax Harimonic Percolater on record? At Action Park by Shellac took my head of at the time. Albini's guitar sound is pretty unique.

    Noise, randomness, ballistic uncertainty.
