I haven't had time to fine tune the order of things, but I'm not far off it all being where I want it :)

the Freeze could do with being at the beginning, and I've got a couple of other pedals to try out, but tbh for freaking folk out at acoustic open mic. nights, I have more than enough :)

I've got the B9 set up so that it sits behind the guitar rather than as a full-on effect, sounds like I'm being accompanied by a keyboard player rather than trying to sound like one.

The Metal Muff is wired to the Chill Switch so it can be added in short bursts or held for an intro.

The Vox Tonelab does all the modulations, wahs and delays and does a perfectly good job too - I want to see if I can get a Tele-into-AC15 sort of tone out of it at some point, but otherwise it's good.

The Rainbow Machine does weirdness, not sure where it fits in yet, but I like it :)

There's also an RC-50 just out of shot which I'm going to try and use without ending up unable to gig without it - it's a great bit of kit but because I can write backing loops and save them to it I might end up too dependant, we'll see.

The amp is a Laney LA30 acoustic amp - I use it so I can hear what's going on (especially with delays) and it also means I'm (hopefully) more in control of what goes to the P.A.in regard to the balance between pedals etc. - I've had compliments in the past so I'm assuming it sounds ok out front, though you don't get any control over what the guy on the desk does to it (and some of them do love to fiddle ;) )

That's how I have mine. I just leave it on "Gospel" with it just sitting in the mix.

Awesome to flick on in in a chorus to fill things out.

How does it work with the Freeze?

That's something I've been really interested to try.

I've got it the wrong way round at the moment - I need to put the Freeze first but it involves unsticking it and I haven't been bothered yet ;)

heh - if a used one came up for sale at half the current price I might be tempted, but £100-ish might be a little much for me ;)

the expression pedal certainly adds to the wackiness available from the Rainbow Machine, I'm sure I'll find some useable noises eventually !

  • I keep watching the PGS demo of the Rainbow Machine.

It is very cool but at the same time I don't think I have the imagination for it.

Does it work well on bass?

I think I can safely say that it's just as much fun as it is with guitar - if you add in a delay pedal it's even more fun :)

The Expression pedal definitely adds a lot to how much mess you can get into, which in this case is a good thing !
