portable recorder

Hi,

I am looking for a portable recorder to record acoustic guitar and vocals. Ideally I would like it to have 2 x XLR inputs with phantom power to record both together.
I have until now always recorded through the laptop but have recently changed laptops and its not up to the job. Don't really want to buy a new one just for recording so a stand alone recorder may be a better option.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

In answer to my own post , I have been looking at these:

    Tascam DP008
    Zoom R8
    Boss BR800

Anyone own any of these or have any opinions ?

I had the BR800 , used it a lot for acoustic rehearsals, really good.

Has phantom, xlr, up to 4 inputs at a time recording.

I have a DP-02 and for simplicity it can't be beaten. It has two XLR's and eight full channel strips not six plus a stereo! Build quality is goos. The only downside is the weak preamps but in talking with a professional the other day, i was told that I should be recording at between -12 and -6db anyway.
